Prepare Yourself for Capitol Hill Block Party
With lineups for festivals rolling out across Washington and beyond it’s impossible to resist mapping out your summer plans. One that we hold especially close is Capitol Hill Block Party, which you’ll find shutting down the streets for it’s 21st year over the July 20-22 weekend. Here’s a little FAQ to prepare you for one of the best weekends of the summer.
1. What’s allowed inside festival gates?
Small backpacks, fanny packs, empty or sealed water bottles, sunblock and more are all okay. Do not bring in any outside booze, professional cameras, fireworks, airhorns or anything else sinful. Find a full list of what you can and cannot bring here.
2. What happens if it rains?
Hopefully we’ll be spared, but it’s Seattle. CHBP goes on rain or shine, after all it’s just a little water.
3. Is CHBP all ages?
Yes, bring all the under 21ers in your life, just know that certain stages are 21+ only. The Main Stage and the Vera Stage are all ages, but the Neumos, Barboza and Cha Cha Stages are 21+. Good news for the babies, children under six are admitted for free.
4. Where can I drink?
There will be three beer gardens along with all bars located within the festival grounds. This includes Cha Cha Lounge, The Runaway, Comet Tavern and more.
5. What about food?
You’ll have your choice from a wide array of food trucks and any of the restaurants located inside festival grounds.
If you have any more questions be sure to check out CHBP’s own FAQ page. See you there dolls!
