Get To Know Me: DoNormaal
This Thursday, October 11, Crane City Music, Do206, and KEXP are combining forces to bring Stas Thee Boss, Chong the Nomad, Kung Foo Grip, and DoNormaal to Nectar Lounge to celebrate the split vinyl LP release between Stas and Chong. Over the week, we'll be highlighting the artists playing the show and getting to know them through a playlist of songs and artists that are important to them. Today, iconic local rapper DoNormaal.
DMM: Your playlist lays out a child like sense of fun, where do you think you get that from?
DoNormaal: I think I'm just very much a little girl, and really in love with the magic I was introduced to through childhood.
We all know a DoNormaal show pops off, what are you hoping comes out of your performances?
I hope I can come off as a really good performer who's not really performing at all. I wanna make it look easy and natural.
We're on a desert island, what record are you bringing to play?
If I could make up a record to bring I'd have all my loved ones make a comedy record so I could listen to their voices and their jokes.
I feel like this playlist accurately portrays the diversity of my many influences. I like to create a childish, fly girl, sentimentalist multiverse, with a tinge of "I am a loner who cherishes the elderly."
