A Hero's Journey: MLB's Hip-Opera & EP Release
Marshall Law Band are literally taking to the stage as the debut "A Hero's Journey: The Hip-Opera" and accompanying LP "Nostos: A Hero's Journey." With two live showings, one on Friday the other Saturday, the project is inspired by classic Greek literature, meant to capture the rugged hero emerging from the peaks and valleys of the journey. Having received a grant from the City of Seattle Arts and featuring other local artists like Scarlet Parke, Valerie and Veronica of La Fonda, Chris King and more, the show has multiple ways to be viewed including a livestream and free tickets for at-risk youth and organizations that contribute to serving them. --KATE

I saw twin brothers Wyatt and Fletcher Shears perform as The Garden at this year's Sasquatch and I fell in love with the stage presence and energy they bring to their shows. They alternated instruments, jumped off their equiptment, and did plenty of pacing around the stage while chant-yelling their lyrics. If you're looking for a rowdy, in-your-face kind of show that will leave your body sweaty and your voice hoarse, then The Garden is the your answer! --HALEY

Girlpool announced a new album this week titled What Chaos Is Imaginary and I couldn't be more stoked for it. On the album's lead single "Hire," Cleo Tucker's newly-deep vocals are on display (they're going through a gender transition) and it's an incredibly beautiful and massive change from the duo's work on Before the World Was Big. Long time friends and recent collaborators Jaden Smith and Harry Hudson dropped the track 'Just Slide' just in time for cuffing season. The song tackles what it means to take chance on things even if you know that outcome may not be what you want. Whether it's friends or lovers, people need to take chances and say what they mean.
